Piano Studies
PIANIST AND ORGANIST Jeb Dennis began piano study at seven after being able to play back any music heard on radio and recordings. At eleven, he enrolled at Silvermine School of Music in Norwalk, Connecticut. Surrounded by a legacy dating back to the early 1900’s, he studied with founder Juliet Shaw and daughter Sandra Shaw-Murphy. By eleven he had settled permanently into the standard and bravura repertory. Jeb started university-level study first in Connecticut at age 15 with Karen Shaw, Professor of Piano at Indiana University-Bloomington's Jacob School of Music (and other daughter of Juliet Shaw). He later received a Bachelor in Piano Performance at Indiana, guided by Dr. Shaw, and continued post-collegiate study with her.
Jeb's GREATEST musical inspiration is connecting with audiences through lectures and deepening their listening experiences. Outside music-making, Jeb is a Board member of The Clover Hill School in Connecticut, a start-up Waldorf education program.
